What We Did

  • Last year, July 2015, NDA-UK, did an assessment of PTSD among earthquake survivor living in the temporary shelter in Kirtipur with the support of CDoP and NPA conducted the intervention program for the earthquake survivors.
  • In November 16-20, 2015, Disaster Mental Health Institute (DMHI), University of South Dakota, USA organized a training of trainers program in Community Based Psychological First-Aid (CBPFA) in Kathmandu. Among several t and institutes, Nepalese Psychological Association was one among several to endorse the training program.
  • Funding for the training programs by Gerard A. Jacobs, Ph.D., Professor and Director, Disaster Mental Health Institute , The University of South Dakota – SDU 114, has been assured
  • In Falgun 2072, NPA held an “interaction” program among the psychologists  and psychology students to explore the challenges being encountered by them.
  • NET therapy and CFBT therapy were intervened for the positive tested survivors of the Gurkha Earthquake in Bhaktapur with the collaboration from Health Exchange Nepal, and NDA-UK in Falgun, 2072
  • Nepalese Psychological Association, Health Exchange Nepal, and NDA (UK) jointly published booklet titled “Recovering from earthquake truame”-a self-help manual in February 2016.
